Another news story today on abuse settlements...

a friend of mr f heard a story on kfbk sacramento radio news a little after 8 this am...3 people in woodland ca received their settlement money, and 7,000 others have come forward with accusations.

i can't find it anywhere - does anyone know about this?

if some of you have the time and resources, could you help me with two statements of the wt:.

somewhere...i only read these two ideas once....the society said two things:.

Somewhere....I only read this once: the WT said before the fall of Jeruselem to the Romans in 70 (one of the few things they have correct...) ALL the Apostals had left. This was, also, before the Exodus in 67. The article was dealing with the fact as I remember, that the GB were Mosaic Law Kieeping Jews. These two facts, as far as I ever read, were in this one article. These admissions lead to so many questions about this "GB:"

Did their authority supersede that of the Apostals?

Where did they go when they left Jeruselem?

The WT admits the Congregations were for the most part non-apostate at least until 200: Why is there not ONE mention of this GB in any Christian writings.

It just goes on and on.......

So if you find anything, thank you.

I had to work later than usuall shift and did not get home, last night until after three in the morning. Our daughter, Leah, has a dance studio. This was her first year in business. The studio had it's first recital for parents and friends and I went in work late in order to help with this event. It went well. Leah is an excellent teacher: especially adult ballroom.

how did being referred to as a brother or sister make you feel?the term brother always reminded me of being in some militant or holy roller religion.

during my tenure as a jehovahs witness, i brought it to the elders attention to refer to .

me by using my first or last name when addressing me.

But here is a much better title: Apostate.

When I am refered to as an "Apostate" I go all glow-eeee inside...a warm snuggle feeling like a shot of Jameson, but, better, like so, so much better....the best....no better than best.....

Aaaahhhhh......

This is not the comment I was thinking of, however, it is the same thing. I must have read a similar comment in a late eighties or early nineties WT. Thank you.

The idea is this: the Org. is beyond judgement. That is why the JWs support it as "it" is the only stable thing on the face of the planet. This positive judgement, once for all, allows any type of behavior imaginable.

I am interested in finding the other comment for this reason: Since the {suppossed] GB functioning in Jeruselem, pre destruction and post exiting of the Apostals, was the "central command" the question is this: Did the composite authority of the GB exceed that of the Apostalic authority of the scattered Apostals?

I would LOVE to debate a JW Elder head on about this whole "goverance of the First Century Congregation" now that I have my ducks in a row.

If some of you have the time and resources, could you help me with two statements of the WT:

Somewhere...I only read these two ideas once....the Society said two things:

The Organization was judged once for all time in 1919 and would never be judged again

and

The Apostals had all left Jeruselem before it's fall. That means the "Governing Body" (Gaawwwdd, what a MYTH!!!!) was functioning without them.

Would you know where this ideas were written?

What was your WORST Field Service encounter???

someone mentioned to me the other day about going door to door back when i was a jw.

"weren't you scared to do something like that, knock on a stranger's door?

actually it's been so long that i had almost forgotten.

Rural territory...stepped out of the car....suddenly, have no idea where they came from....some kind of a bulldog like dog: two of them, freaking huge....hip high...out of now where and they are beside me.

Damn near passed out: I am afraid of dogs: dog bite when I was about five.

Turned out they were real "puppy-ish."

There are more...this was the one that came to mind.

PS: the oddest "door story" is this: not JWs...selling Rainbow vacumn cleaners. Knocked on a door. A young women came to the door: very attractive, shapely. She is wearing a high on the leg skirt, low cut. Said she was waiting on her husband: they were going out to dinner. I I say "OK' and turn to leave. About that time a Doberman on something like it, growls and forces itself against the door. She is in a house trailer, no porch. The screen slams open and the dog is going to go for my throat. She catches the collor. Here is the picture:

I am face to face with the Doberman and he is "death ready." She has ahold of his collor pulling him back. Meanwhile, another struggle is gong on: Her breasts are battling to escape from what little dress/bra were holding them in place. Funny, this was a no fear situation: it was such a paradox: dog teath and heaving bosum. Never saw anything like it.

Just a true story.......

I have heard it before....some time long, long ago....before this two year old with RAD came into our lives...
